At the “2013 Indonesian Rugby Charity Lunch” held on Saturday August 24 the Union introduced a new award titled the “Referee of the Year”. This new award is designed to encourage former players and current players alike here in Indonesia to have a go at refereeing, because as we all “love them or loathe them” none of us can have the fun we do playing Rugby if we don’t have a Referee.

The inaugural recipient of the “Referee of the Year” award was Ari Yudha Pramono, pictured above on the left, with former Wallaby, Ben Darwin (centre) and PRUI Chairman, Yudha Ramon. Whilst he is still a young man with many years ahead of him as a player, Yudha has already shown what it takes refereeing school age children and senior players alike.

Indonesian Rugby hopes that Yudha or ‘Yucil’ as he is popularly known continues blowing his whistle for many years to come.
