Rhinos Playing in a RWC Qualifier for the 1st Time

Whilst the 2015 Rugby World Cup (RWC) in England may seem a while away and the fact that the hallowed pitch of Twickenham is a world away from Stadium Petaling Jaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, tomorrow marks a historic day in the history of Indonesian Rugby as the National Rugby Team, the Rhinos play in their first ever RWC Qualifier Match against Guam.

This match is part of the Asian Qualifiers for the 2015 RWC and it is also being played as a Semi Final in the 2012 HSBC A5N Division 3 Tournament. In the other Semi Final tomorrow India takes on Pakistan.

The two winners from tomorrow’s Semi Final matches will play against each other in the Final of Division 3 on Friday for the right to play off against the winner of the 2012 HSBC A5N Division 2 Tournament, which includes China, Malaysia, Thailand and Iran. Division 2 matches will take place on Thursday when Thailand play Iran and Malaysia play China. The Division 2 Final will take place on Saturday.

Indonesian Rugby is confident of the Rhino’s chances this week and like the entire Indonesian Rugby community the Union is standing behind the Rhinos tomorrow in KL.

Go the Rhinos!
