World Rugby Coaching Course Level 1 and GIR Session in Papua

On Friday and Saturday, 28 – 29 July 2017, PB PRUI and PRUI Papua conducted World RugbyInternational Coaching Course Level 1, delivered by Karina Soerja, Indonesian educator. 15 participants from 4 different districts of Papua attended the training that held in Kuala Kencana, Timika, Papua.

This event is a series of activities with Papuan Open Rugby Tournament 2017 which was held this year for the fourth time. This year is the first time that the event was accompanied with training for rugby coaches. The tournament and course went successful.

As part of this series of activities, the 15 new Papuan coaches immediately jumped to train kids for the Get Into Rugby (GIR) program in Timika, on Saturday. The international program that introduced Rugby to the entire community was successfully followed by over 25 children from various parts of Papua, especially from Banti Menaga, Tembagapura.
