The UNJ Rugby Team have made history by qualifying for their first ever XV’s Final after defeating the Bandung Rams 26-5 in their Semi-Final match against the Bandung Rams on Saturday April 25.
UNJ will play JJRG who defeated Bogor Rugby in an earlier Semi-Final match.
This year is the inaugural year of Division 2 in the “Fez by Aphrodite West Indonesia XV’s Series” and both teams deserve their place in the Final to be played on Saturday May 9 at Jagorawi, following the First Division Final between the Jakarta Komodos and the Jakarta Banteng.
The Cup to be used for the Division 2 Championship is the “Willy Ellison Memorial Cup”. This Cup is better known as the “Willy Cup” and is named in honour of Willy Ellison who died in a light plane crash south of Jakarta on June 20, 2004. Willy died along with his partner Priscilla Hall and three Indonesian pilots.
